Saturday 17th September; Builth Wells Showground.

This was the yearly Welsh Crit Champs, the weather was good and the course was a 1.3km flat circuit around the showground. The race was 55 minutes long, and started off quite quick with people attacking off the group regularly until the pace settled a bit. The group was slowing getting whittled down due to the speed and the tight corners on the circuit. Then with around 15 minutes left to race, I attacked off the group, gained a couple meters, and then Joshua Sandman of Climb-on-Bikes attacked and bridged to me, then we both started working together, pulling turns and gaining a gap on the group. coming into the final lap, Sandman was on the front, and ended up leading me out for a sprint where I came round him with around 150m to go, and won the sprint by about a bike length. That meant that I was Welsh National Crit Champ, so have a Welsh National jersey I can wear now. This is the first national title of any sorts that I have had and fills me with confidence that there are more that I will win in the future.
